TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The defendant of the e-KTP corruption case Irvanto Hendra Pambudi Cahyo refused to be charged 12 years in prison and a fine of Rp1 billion subsidiary 6 months in prison by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutor.

“I was shocked and objected to the demand of the public prosecutor,” said the former Director of Murakabi Sejahtera when reading the plea in the trial at the Central Jakarta District Corruption Court, Wednesday, November 21.

Irvanto said he was only a courier or intermediary to hand over the money to members of the House of Representatives. The order was also based on the instruction from a number of people such as Setya Novanto and Andi Agustinus or Andi Narogong.

Irvanto said he did not receive the money at all. He was only promised to be given Rp1 billion by Andi Narogong but he has not received it until now. “I am unfamiliar with the law, but the prosecutor’s demand is unfair. I was only an intermediary,” he said.

Irvanto also pleaded guilty and regretted his action. “I pleaded guilty and regretted being complacent with the promise of Andi Augustine,” he said.

Irvanto claimed that he had cooperated in handling the e-KTP corruption case. He had also proposed the status of a justice collaborator and asked the panel of judges to give him a fair sentence.
