TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Following the boycott by Prabowo Subianto’s campaign team against Metro TV, the media’s Editor in Chief Don Bosco Selamun does not deny the fact that his presenters often cut short a source’s statement on its show, which includes the interview with representatives Prabowo’s campaign team.

However, Don Bosco maintains that there is a logical reason behind it and that Metro TV’s presenters are suggested to do so.

“Presenters are urged to cut short answers that are not based on data, whoever the source may be,” said Don Bosco to Tempo yesterday.

He asserts that Metro TV intentionally avoids sources that often issue statements that are non-factual or data-based.

“Answers such as these are often easy on the ears, however, those statements fail to educate the public to better understand a certain situation,” Don maintained.

The Metro TV senior staff added that his media is also avoiding hosting talk shows that would end up being a vessel for empty arguments and debates between presidential hopeful supporters.
