TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Asian Games Bridge athlete and one of Indonesia’s richest personBambang Hartono received his bonus at the Jakarta State Palace for managing to win a bronze medal. Bambang can rightfully receive Rp150 million from the government.
“The bonus money will be used for the development of the bridge community, so it will be given entirely to bridge,” said Bambang at the State Palace on Sunday, September 2, while confirming that his share of money had already been sent to a Bank BRI account.
“I have received this [showing his Bank BRI account book],” said Bambang to journalists.
This is specifically unique since Bambang and his relative Budi Hartano both own shares in Bank BCA.
Bambang himself reportedly owns 25 percent of BCA’s shares. He further complimented the government’s quick response upon providing its athletes with the promised bonuses.
MichaelBambang Hartono also owns Djarum and is one of Indonesia’s richest that was featured in March’s edition of Forbes magazine. His total wealth is said to be USD 16.7 billion or Rp225 trillion. Bambang is currently 79 years of age and is the oldest athlete that represented Indonesia in the Asian Games 2018.
