TEMPO.CO, Cirebon - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi stated the bus ticket will be on sale via online after 2018 Eid.
“In several areas including Jakarta, Solo, Cilacap, and Cirebon, we have demanded the ticket sale should be made online,” said Budi while inspecting homecoming preparation at Harjamukti Terminal, Cirebon, West Java, on Tuesday, June 12.
According to Budi, during Eid holiday, the ministry will issue a ministerial decree (Permen) on imposing the online sale of bus ticket because thus far the regular system opened the possibility of broker and fraud. “Besides, it takes time and creates lines,” he said.

Budi went on to say that the sale of a bus ticket will be transparent via online. For example, if the ticket cost Rp100,000, all the money will benefit the bus operator. “Unlike today, some Rp20,000 may benefit certain people (broker),” he added.
Aside from that, the online sale will replace motorcycle as a transportation means during Eid homecoming season. Thus the ministry strived to add more bus units, applied online ticket sale, and trained the bus operator.
Budi stated the ministry provided special services for home-comers using motorcycle during Eid homecoming this year such as rest area at Losarang, Indramayu.
