TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned lender Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) is increasing their cash reserves throughout Ramadan and Eid. The bank has some Rp28 trillion in cash ready to circulate.

"BRI will allocate Rp28 trillion cash supply for public needs during this year's Eid celebrations," corporate secretary Bambang Tribaroto told Bisnis Indonesia, Monday, May 21.

He said that the amount of funds was allotted to anticipate a surge in cash needs from June 11 to 20, or during the holiday leave.

This year's cash allocation is higher than in 2017, where BRI earmarked Rp23 trillion.

"This is because there are more off days in this year's Eid," Bambang remarked.
