Police Claim to Already Control Mako Brimob Riot

TEMPO.CO, Depok - National Police say they have controlled the riot situation in Mako Brimob, Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java, on Tuesday, May 8.
There were no casualties in the incident. But a number of people suffered injuries caused by a riot involving the security forces and the inmates of the terrorism cases in the prison.
Brigadier General M. Iqbal, Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police Public Relations Division, when reviewing the scene on Wednesday morning, May 9, confirmed the steps already taken.

"Currently, the situation is under control," Iqbal said when met around Mako Brimob. According to Iqbal, police are taking various actions to restore the situation. "Both did soft approach and other actions," he said.
Even so, Iqbal said he could not explain in detail what actions were being taken.
"I'm sorry, I cannot be too detailed right now, deliver this incident, when it occurred, how many people who get hurt, and so on. But, right now, exactly at 1:00 am, no one dies," said Iqbal.
Iqbal made sure that someone was wounded by the riot. "There are indeed some who suffered injuries, but the wound is not serious," he said.

Related to the fate of the prisoners, Iqbal also has not revealed. "We will present the details of the matter later when we can handle it," he said.
Based on the information gathered by Tempo, the riot occurred in Block C detention room of Mako Brimob. After the situation was successfully controlled, the police confiscated a number of weapons that allegedly deprived the prisoners.
