TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Asian Games 2018 committee INASGOC has prepped to face cyber-attack when the sporting event takes place, considering that Indonesia is one of the ten countries susceptible to cyber-attack.
“We do not want to have incidents such as the one that happened in the opening of the Winter Olympics in South Korea where it was an hour behind schedule,” said INASGOC Chairman Erick Thohir in Jakarta, yesterday, May 3.

Furthermore, according to Erick, INASGOC will work together with the Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) Ministry, the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN), police, and armed forces to prevent any possible cyber-attacks.
“We will be assisted by a 30-personnel team from Kominfo comprising of experts in the field and also form a shadow team,” said Erick. The main sector that will be secured by this team, he went on, is the event’s ticketing system and journalist’s credentials that have hampered the Winter Olympics.
However, INASGOC IT and Telecommunication Director Edy Prabowo claims he has prepared a backup system upon anticipating attacks towards the Asian Games 2018 central operation control.
