Jokowi Invites ASEAN Leaders to Bali

TEMPO.CO, Singapore - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially delivered an invitation to leaders of ASEAN country members to attend ASEAN Leaders Gathering in Bali, October 2018.


“I invite and really hope Your Excellencies’ presence in the gathering in Bali. See you in Bali,” said the President in his speech during the Plenary Meeting of the 32nd ASEAN Summit in Singapore.


On the occasion, Jokowi announced that Indonesia will be the host of the Annual Meeting of IMF-World Bank that also takes place in Bali in October 2018.

President Jokowi explained the ASEAN Leaders Gathering aimed to maintain the solid partnership of ASEAN countries’ leaders in managing the economic growth in a bid to foster better prosperity, equality, and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).


Also present at the meeting were Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, Security Affairs Wiranto and Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi.
