Magnitude 4.8 Earthquake Hit West Sumbawa

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A magnitude 4.8 quake hit West Sumbawa regency, West Nusa Tenggara on Friday night, as reported by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
BMKG reported in a written statement Friday, March 30, that the epicenter of the quake was at the southwest of West Sumbawa regency, as quoted from Antara.

The agency recorded the quake struck the region at 23:00 local time at the depth of 82 kilometers. The epicenter was at the 8.98 south latitude and 116.83 east longitude.
According to BMKG report, the quake was at level III MMI scale which means the intensity was felt quite noticeably in several locations, such as Mataram, East Lombok, Central Lombok, and West Lombok, and also in Kuta, Bali with lesser intensity at level II.
BMKG and other related institution have yet confirmed the victim or damage caused by the earthquake.
