TEMPO.CO, Jakarta- Airport train operator PT Railink has decided to increase the frequency of Soekarno Hatta Aiport train's departure. Starting from March 29, the train will depart twice an hour or per 30 minutes interval.
Railink president director Heru Kuswanto said the decision was made in a bid to help passengers adjust their flight schedules with to-and-from airport transportation time.
"The time it takes to travel between the airport and the BNI City station has also been reduced to just 46 minutes," Heru said in a written statement on Wednesday, March 28.
Heru reminds passengers to pay close attention to the train's timetable and schedules. Railink, he said, will keep improving its services through innovations that will be implemented soon; including the addition of new Airport Train Service Stations.
There have been requests for additional airport train lines, such as to Manggarai Station in early 2019 or to Bekasi, Transportation Ministry's director general of railways Zulfikri said.
"There is that demand. But we need to study it first. We haven’t discussed it, but we will," he said in Bogor, Tuesday.
