Mitraclip to be Attached to BJ Habibie`s Heart Valve

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The third President of Indonesia Baharuddin Jusuf Habibie or BJ Habibie has undergone a mitraclip catheter-based procedure to overcome his leaky heart valve, today Wednesday, March 14 at 08:00 local times or around 14:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
“The best team of the specialist doctor in Europe will conduct the operation,” said Habibie Center spokesperson Mila Octaviani in a written statement received by Tempo today.
She asked the Indonesian people to pray for the heart surgery going smoothly. According to Mila, Habibie has gained a better state after being hospitalized for several days due to his leaking heart valve.

However, Mila went on, Habibie is not yet allowed to leave the hospital because the team of doctors needs to do further observation. He is also demanded to stay at the hospital for fully rest.
"Because he cannot stand still if he’s home," she said. Habibie is now able to talk very well but she has yet known when will he be discharged from the hospital.
Habibie's health conditions have decreased since Saturday, March 1. “But the news later spread on March 3 in Indonesia,” said Mila.
Habibie was experiencing a short of breath and was immediately taken to the Starnberg Clinic in Munich, Germany. The team of doctors diagnosed Habibie with a leaking heart valve as suffered by his late wife Hasri Ainun. He was then attached with a cardiac catheterization to find out which his heart valve leaking to get further treatment.
