KAI Yogyakarta Offers Promo Tickets for 5 Long Distance Travels

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State railway company Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) Operation Area (Daop) VI Yogyakarta plans to offer promo tickets for five long distance travels which will be available every Tuesday-Wednesday in March-April 2018.


“With this sale, we hope passengers' enthusiasm to use the trains to Yogyakarta will increase, so as to promote tourism in Yogyakarta, particularly on weekdays,” said the public relations manager of KAI Daop VI Yogyakarta, Eko Budiyanto, in Yogyakarta, Friday, March 9.

Five trains provided for the promo are the Fajar Utama Yogyakarta (Yogyakarta-Pasar Senen) at Rp140 thousand, Gajahwong (Pasar Senen-Lempuyangan) at Rp90 thousand, economy class of Malioboro Ekspres (Yogyakarta-Malang) at Rp140 thousand, Senja Utama Yogyakarta (Yogyakarta-Pasar Senen) at Rp150 thousand, and Wijayakusuma of Cilacap-Solo route at Rp60 thousand and Cilacap-Yogyakarta at Rp50 thousand.


Eko stated the special rate was applied to one way trips and under each train regulations. As for March, the promo is valid on 13, 13,14, 20, 21, and 27, and on April 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, and 25 for the next month.

Customers can grab the tickets at reservation booths at train stations, via KAI access application, train tickets sale websites, and PT KAI partner channels. Ticket booking is available until D-day minus one.


However, as for the seats unsold until D-day, customers will have to pay the highest price. If a would-be passenger cancels the trip, the ticket can be null, postponed, or rescheduled.
