PT KAI Offers 50 Percent Discount for Long Distance Trains

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Operation Area (Daop) 8 Surabaya plans to give a 50-percent discount for medium and long distance travels starting Thursday, February 22.
PT KAI Daop 8 Surabaya public relations manager Gatut Sutiyatmoko said that the tariff cut is an effort to increase the public interest of railway users.
"We apply a special rate for medium and long distance rail journeys with 20-50 percent discounts valid starting February 22, 2018," Gatut said in Surabaya, Wednesday, February 21.
Gatut said passengers who want to enjoy the special rate will be served two hours before the scheduled departure at the station counter and some external channels are set.
"This special rate does not apply to facultative or additional trains and cannot be combined with other programs," he said.
Some trains that provide the discounts include Gajayana, Malabar, Malioboro Ekspres, Majapahit, and Bima.
