Jasa Marga to Halt Some Projects

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk decided to postpone all construction projects on the elevated construction, including bridge project. The Jasa Marga Corporate Secretary Agus Setiawan said that the termination is a step to anticipate work accident in the project construction following the Becakayu Toll Road incident on Tuesday, February 20.


Some of the projects are the Jakarta-Cikampek 2 toll flyover, the Porong-Gempol relocation toll road, and a number of bridges construction located on the toll road which on being built.

"In addition, the construction of non-elevated/at-grade sections projects will continue to be implemented by applying Safety and Health Management Systems, as well as applicable standards and procedures," he said in a press release on Wednesday, February 21.


Agus said Jasa Marga fully supports the government's policy regarding the temporary suspension of elevated project work. On Tuesday, February 20, SOE Minister Rini Soemarno, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, and Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Minister Basoeki Hadimoeljono agreed to suspend all construction works.

The instruction is intended to restructure the readiness of toll road business entities to support a safety project construction.
