“We issued a warning for the Batang Toll Road construction project in Semarang. The next logical step [would be more than a warning]” said Basuki at the PUPR Ministry headquarters in South Jakarta on Wednesday, February 21.

As of today, Budi explained that he had ratified an assignment letter to the National Construction Safety Committee (KKKN) where he urged the committee to evaluate 40 construction projects that involve elevated heavy equipment that also involves projects handled by Waskita Karya. He also clarified that the evaluation only involves the KKKN and not the Indonesian Contractors Association (AKI).

In order, the sanctions start from a written warning, administrative fines, temporary construction stoppage, blacklisting the company, freezing its work permit, and revoking its permit. As mentioned above, Waskita Karya has already received a written warning for the work accident at the Batang Toll Road construction previous to the Becakayu Toll Road construction incident.
