TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 19 countries will participate in the 2018 Asian Games test event set to be held from February 8.
“The test event will be held from February 8 to 15. As many as 950 athletes and officials will participate in the event,” said INASGOC deputy I for games operation Hari Warga Negara on Monday, February 5.

The test event will feature sporting events such as archery, athletics, five-on-five basketball, boxing, pencak silat, taekwondo, indoor volleyball, and weightlifting. The event organizer had to cancel the testing for soccer due to lack of participants.
Four countries, namely India, Thailand, Timor Leste, and Indonesia will participate in the basketball tournament scheduled on February 8. The tournament will be held at Bung Karno Stadium’s Basketball Hall that had gone through a major renovation.

Meanwhile, athletics is the sporting event that attracted 201 athletes from eleven countries. Bung Karno Main Stadium will be used as the venue from February 11 to 13.
Thailand sent the highest number of athletes followed by the host country. There are 92 Thai athletes that will participate in six events except for volleyball and taekwondo. Indonesia will be represented by 139 athletes in the 2018 Asian Games warm-up test event.
