IDX: JCI to Deliver Positive Performance in Political Year

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) is optimistic that the performance of the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) in 2018 political year will still yield positive results.
"Historically, the situation in the previous political year bore no influence on our market. So we expect the same thing in this year and in 2019," IDX company assessment director Samsul Hidayat said in Jakarta on Friday, Jan. 19.
He stated that with strong fundamental of national economy, it is expected that the performance of stock market industry will be better than that of the previous year. Investors will still invest their funds.
Furthermore, Indonesia Securities Reliance research revealed that political situations and security are still perceived to be conducive up until the upcoming 2019 Presidential Election. Domestic stock market and obligation can still generally continue to deliver positive performance.
