Jokowi to Attend ASEAN-India Summit in New Delhi

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi is scheduled to attend ASEAN-India Summit which will be held in New Delhi later this month.


During the summit, Jokowi will take part in two sessions which will discuss international issues. "The retreat session will focus on maritime cooperation," Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said at the Presidential Palace on Thursday, January 18.


In addition, President Jokowi will also take part in a plenary session which will discuss growing issues in the region as well as international issues.


The president is scheduled to arrive in India on January 25 and then take part in the ASEAN-India Summit.


On January 26, President Jokowi will attend a function marking India Republic Day.


Jokowi will visit India as part of his five-South Asian nation tour which will also take him to Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
