TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The West Java Police apprehended six suspects for allegedly producing pornographic videos involving underage children. West Java Police Chief Inspector General Agung Budi Maryoto said that the suspects produce the video due to economic reasons.

“The content is considered as harassment and child exploitation. The first video was taken between April and May 2017, and the second one was shot in August with different roles,” said Agung at the West Java Police Headquarters on Monday, January 8.

According to Agung, the main suspect is Muhammad Faisal Akbar, who served as the director and cameraman. He also sold it to a second party.

“According to Faisal’s testimony, [the video] was made as ordered by buyers in Russia and the Netherlands,” said the Police Chief.

He continued to explain that the making of the video started off on Facebook. Within a Facebook community, Faisal uploaded a photoshopped image. He then received a request to upload the original video. Faisal then sent the video through Telegram application,” Agung explained.

There were three underage boys who became the victims of the crime. Two of them were just 9 years old and the other one was 11 years old. Police have already apprehended five suspects who served as recruiters. One of them is the victim’s biological parent.
