Jakarta Police Arrest Two South Korean Kidnappers

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police arrested two people on Wednesday responsible for the kidnapping of a South Korean citizen with the initials of KH (10). KH was taken from South Korea to Jakarta.
According to the police’s head of Crime and Violence Subdirectory Sen. Commissioner Hendy F Kurniawan, one of the kidnappers, Baik Jong Woon, was arrested at the Fraser Residence Sudirman apartment in South Jakarta.
“We arrested the perpetrators in two separate locations,” said Hendy on Wednesday, November 1. Police discovered KH at the apartment with another child who is also suspected to be a kidnap victim.
Police arrested another suspect, Sea Song Woon, at the
Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang. Police believe that Sea Song intended to return to his home country.
KH was kidnapped in South Korea by two suspects who are also South Korean citizens on October 24. Both suspects kidnapped KH for ransom. “We are still interrogating the suspects. We will coordinate with the South Korean Embassy tomorrow morning, possibly for deportation,” said Hendy.
