TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Police are currently investigating the questionable wedding business website nikahsirri.com, which focuses on arranging plans for unregistered marriages and virgin auctions.


Jakarta Metro Police’s special crime director Sr. Comr. Adi Deriyan said that the website’s 2,700 registered members are dominated by men.


“We have not found female [members] yet,” he said.


The website opens the opportunity for the public to register as partners, who can actively contribute by becoming grooms, brides, witnesses, or marriage celebrants.


The suspected owner of the website, Aris Wahyudi, was arrested by authorities on early Sunday morning at his house located in South Bekasi. Based on the investigation, the website was recently launched made an Rp5 million worth of profit on a daily basis by selling coins to its clients. A single coin is sold for Rp100,000 and is required for clients to arrange a marriage.
