TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Golkar Party secretary general Idrus Marham said that the party's chairman Setya Novanto is unable to show up for Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioning today, September 11, citing health reasons. Idrus said that Setya's blood sugar went up after exercising yesterday, and the House of Representatives' speaker had to check-in to the hospital.

"According to the doctor, Pak Setya's illness is his blood sugar, which affects kidney and heart functions," he said in Jakarta Monday.

Idrus and the Golkar Party Advocates Team came to the KPK building this morning to deliver a letter from Setya along with the doctor's letter regarding his inability to be questioned as a suspect in the electronic identity (e-ID) card procurement case.

Idrus said three doctors who examined Setya didn’t recommend him to attend the questioning.

KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said on Friday last week that the antigraft body had summoned the House speaker Setya Novanto for questioning.
