TEMPO.CO, Bogor - The Police have revealed the motive behind the murder of government official Indria Kameswari following the arrest of the offender, her husband Abdul Malik Azis. The latter allegedly shot her dead at their home in Bogor Regency.

“According to the suspect, the motive behind the murder was bickering over domestic issues,” Bogor Police chief Sr. Comr. Andi Muhammad Dicky Pastika said yesterday.

Andi said that the police continue to search for a gun used by Abdul to shot his wife. “From the arrest up to questioning by investigators, he has not been cooperative. He refuses to tell where he disposed of the gun,” he said.

Police interrogation reveals that Abdul and Indira had been bickering over domestic issues since early Friday morning. The quarrel continued in the morning as others performed Eid al Adha prayers. Abdul allegedly could not hold himself back and shot his wife from behind, hitting a lung.

Abdul immediately left the home and ran away before hiding at his brother’s home in the Riau Islands. The police arrested him on September 3. “He never told us where he got the gun from,” the police said.

The police said that the investigation into the case continues. They may charge Indria Kameswari husband with murder or premeditated murder.
