TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian womens double players Greysia Polii and Apriani Rahayu won a champion title at Thailand Badminton Open on Sunday.
They defeated the hosts pair Chayanit Chaladchalam/Pathaimas Muenwong in straight sets 21-12, 21-12 in the final round at Nimibutr Stadium, Bangkok.
The Indonesian pair started the first game by losing three points at 5-8 but later they successfully turned the game to their favor 19-8 and finally won the first game 21-12.
In the second game Greysia/Apriani gave no opportunity for their opponents to develop their play leading 11-7 in the interval before finally closed the second game to their favor 21-12 and won the champion title.
With the victory the newly-matched duo met the target set for them and gave a positive signal for the countrys badminton progress.
