NTT Police Return 4 Human Trafficking Victims from Aceh to Kupang

TEMPO.CO, Kupang - Kupang resort police have returned four victims of human trafficking case.


They were returned from Aceh to Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Saturday (14/1).


"There are four victims of human trafficking returned from Aceh to Kupang," said Head of Criminal Unit of Kupang Resort Police First Inspector Ebed Amalo in Kupang.


The four victims were identified as EK, LL, SM and DM.


It was reported that they were recruited and sent by NAT or Susi Nona network to Medan, North Sumatra, but they were employed in Aceh as domestic helpers.


The four victims were picked in Aceh by investigators from Kupang resort police.


Two of them were returned after serving prison terms after they were accused of stealing cellphones by their employers in Aceh.


EK told Tempo that he worked for one year in Aceh but during that time, he never received any salaries. He added that they even often received bad treatment from their employers.


"We were often hit and scolded by our employers,” he said.
