Tontowi-Liliyana Wins 2016 Malaysian Open Title

TEMPO.CO, Shah Alam - Indonesia's top badminton mixed double pair Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir won the 2016 Malaysian Open Super Series Premier title after beating home's favorite Peng Soon Chan/Liu Ying Goh 23-21, 13-21, and 21-16.
Tontowi and Liliyana, the second seed of the tournament, fought a hard battle against the Malaysian pair, who displayed an excellent game.
Commenting after the win, Liliyana said: "Tontowi and I are definitely happy to become champions here. After several tournaments we could not prove ourselves, today we can prove that we still can be relied on, " Liliyana said.
It is the first Super Series title for Tontowi/Liliyana since they last won the 2014 French Open.
"It's been quite long (that we didn’t win Super Series title) and it's been quite difficult for us to get out of the pressure. We finally can be champions again," Tantowi said.
