TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Daeng Azis’s lawyer said that his client will be probed as suspect over prostitution case on Tuesday, March 8, 2016. “Tomorrow [Tuesday] at 10 pm [Daeng Azis] will be probed again over the same case at [Jakarta] Metro Police,” Razman said at Jakarta Metro Police Headquarter on Monday, March 7, 2016.
Having been identified as suspect, Daeng Azis has only been probed once over prostitution case, Razman said. The probe is scheduled to be carried out by Jakarta Metro Police at North Jakarta Precinct Police where he had been detained.
Meanwhile, for electricity theft case, Razman said that he had requested to postpone his client’s detention. Postponement of detention will be requested through North Jakarta Percinct Police on Monday. “I’ve requested for postponement of detention to North Jakarta Precinct Police,” he said.
Razman has raised a number of considerations for the request of detention postponement, citing that Daeng Azis has been regarded as a prominent figure who has a number of followers in Kalijodo. The lawyer did not want Daeng Azis’s followers to clash with police during eviction. “Therefore I have made it clear to Daeng to not mobilize his men and create confrontation on the ground.”
Daeng Azis, suspect of prostitution case in Kalijodo, was arrested by North Jakarta Precinct Police on February 25 on alleged electricity theft. Azis was arrested without resistance and has been charged with article 51 paragraph 3 Law No 30/2009 on Electricity.
