TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - KAI Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ), the company that operates commuter line train, opened three new stations on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. The stations are located along the Tangerang-Duri route.

The three new stations are the Grogol, Taman Kota and Tanah Tinggi stations. According to Eva Chairunisa, Corporate Communication of KCJ, currently there are a total of 11 stations located along the Tangerang-Duri route, including the three new stations.

M.N. Fadhila, KCJ CEO, said that the Tangerang-Duri route currently serves 37,000 passengers on a daily basis, with a total of 88 train trips. Fadhila predicted that the number of passengers boarding the Tangerang-Duri route will continue to increase.

The three new stations are expected to improve KCJ's passenger carrying capacity and to accommodate the increasing need of public transportation. KCJ hoped that in 2019, it could accommodate a 1.2 million passengers per day.
