TEMPO.CO, Banten – The Banten provincial government through the Banten Investment Coordinating Board and Integrated Services (BKPMPT) has threatened to revoke licenses of 169 national and foreign companies in the Banten province, as the companies have skipped submitting their investment activity reports (LKPM) since 2007 to 2012.

BKPMPT chief Ranta Suarta said he would probe the companies. “There are 169 companies in Banten that haven’t submitted LKPM,” said Ranta on Wednesday.

He said in accordance with the Law No. 25/2007 about Investment, principle licenses have a three-year period, with a possible extension of another two years. “It includes land acquisition, construction and recruitment employees. All of them must be completed,” he said.

He explained a principle permit would be revoked if not completed after the extended time.

“There are 15,000 companies throughout Indonesia, while in Banten, there are hundreds,” said Ranta.

BKPMPT control chief Ikhsan Budiantara said the data showed that most of the companies that did not submit LKPMs were of 2007 to 2012. “They have had principle licenses from central BKPM since 2007,” he said.

Most of thse companies are located in Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City and South Tangerang. “There are also some in Lebak, Serang and Cilegon,” he said.
