Non-Subsidized Electricity Tariffs Decrease

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned electricity company PLN has decreased electricity rate by 1.86 percent for February 2015 period.
Based on electricity tariff info on PLN's website on Monday, February 2, 2015, electricity rate in January 2015 was Rp 1,496.05 per kWh while in February 2015, the rate is Rp 1,468.25 or decreased by Rp 27.8 per kWh.
The February tariff applies to five categories of non-subsidized electricity customers, which include medium household (category R2) with electric capacity of 3,500 to 5,500 VA, large household (category R3) with electric capacity of 6,600 VA and above, medium business (category B2) with electric capacity of 6,600 to 200,000 VA, government offices (category P1) with electric capacity of 6,600 to 200,000 VA and street lighting (category P3).
Meanwhile, tariffs for categories including large business (category B3) with electric capacity of mere than 200,000 VA, large industry (category I3) with electric capacity of more than 200,000 kVA, and government buildings (category P2) with electric capacity of more than 200,000 kVA, will be determined through a specific formula with a multiplier factor of Rp 1,057.17 per kWh.
The multiplier is lower compared to the Rp 1,077.18 per kWh set previously in January 2015.
Tariffs for large industry (category I4) with an electric capacity of 30 MVA and above is lowered from Rp 1,011.99 to Rp 993.19 per kWh, and tariffs for special L/TR, TM and TT categories has been decreased from Rp 1,574.57 to Rp 1,545.32 per kWh.
