TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police deputy chief Comr. Gen. Badrodin Haiti pledged to help the Justice and Human Rights Ministry with the recommendation to disband hard-line Muslim group the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI).

According to Badrodin, the police will share data related to the number of legal violations committed by the FPI.

“We will provide [the data] upon the Justice Ministry’s request,” Badrodin said on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, in Jakarta.

On Tuesday, November 11, 2014, acting Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama has submitted a recommendation letter on the disbandment of the FPI to the Justice and Human Rights Ministry, the Central Jakarta District Court, The Jakarta Police, and other institutions.

The recommendation letter elaborates four arguments used as bases to disband the FPI, such as frequently launching anarchic protests, spreading hatred, hampering the capital's governor inauguration and causing traffic jam. According to Ahok, such acts are violations against the constitution.
