TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia is set to host the International Scout and Guide Fellowship (ISGF) World Conference 2017 in Bali.

"We are proud that Indonesia was chosen to host the ISGF Conference," said the Chairperson of Adult Scout Association (Hipprada), Haryono Suyono, as quoted by Antara News.

He explained that ISGF, which is an international organization like Hipprada, organizes the world conference every three years. As many as 101 countries participate in it.

In the 27th international conference held from October 10 to 15 in Sydney, Australia, this year, Indonesia was chosen as the host of the 28th ISGF World Conference. However, the exact date of the event has yet to be decided.

According to Suyono, the world conference could serve to boost Indonesias tourism sectors.

"We decided to make Bali the gateway for the participants (of the conference) as the island is very famous abroad," he stated.

Suyono added that Hipprada had proposed to organize pre- and post-conference events to promote the potential of Indonesias tourism sectors.

"Pre-conference events, such as meetings, can be organized in the villages in Bali. These can provide participants the opportunity to experience the local culture and activities," Suyono noted.

Similarly, post-conference tours can be arranged to popular tourist destinations such as Borobudur Temple in Magelang in Central Java, Prambanan Temple in Yogyakarta, and Raja Ampat in West Papua.
