Arabian Princes Visit Qatar to Discuss IS Threat

TEMPO.CO, Dhoa - Three Arabian princes flew to Qatar on Wednesday to discuss an attempt to end political tension among Gulf Nations and the threat from the Islamic State (IS) in Iraq and Syria. Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal, Chief of Intelligence Prince Khaled bin Bandar, and Domestic Minister Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, all attended the discussion.
Previously, Reuters reported that Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates have withdrawn their consulates from Doha in March 2014. They accused Qatar of violating an agreement by not involving their countries in Middle East internal issues.
Also, in the light of IS emergence, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and United Arab Emirate, have all asked Qatar to stop funding and political support towards Ikhwanul Muslimin, which has been declared as a terrorist organization by Saudi Arabia. Moreover, Qatar has recently given residential status to Youssef al-Qaradawi, an ulema linked to Ikhwanul Muslimin. Al Jazeera of Qatar is also often accused of promoting the organization.
