TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan denied reports that he plans to dismiss Nur Pamudji from his post as power company PLN's president director. Through a text message on Tuesday, August 12, Dahlan said Nur will stay in office until the end of his term.

A Tempo source at the SOE Ministry said that two weeks before Eid, Dahlan called Nur and PT KAI director Ignatius Jonan. To both men, Dahlan said he will appoint Jonan as PLN chief, replacing Nur.

According to the source, Nur said he was ready to leave his position, while Jonan refused to be PLN's main man.

The source also said that the replacement was supposed to take place after the Eid holidays. However, it was cancelled because Vice President Boediono—as Vice Chairman of the Final Assessment Team (TPA)—disagreed with the plan. Boediono, he the source added, cited with an impending administration changes the SOE Ministry must not take any strategic decision.

Yopie Hidayat, the special staff for the Vice President, refused to comment about the report.
