TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lion Air general affairs director Edward Sirait, said that the airline has no involvement in the Soekarno-Hatta Airport train construction project.
"We haven't discussed it yet. No decision so far," said Edward on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. He also denied reports that Lion Air has cancelled its investment plan for the airport train construction.
According to Edward, the Transportation Ministry said that the project would be given to state-owned companies. Therefore, Lion Air assumed that private companies would not be included in the project.
He further said that Lion Air has no plan to invest in the project and declined to reveal who had provided him the information that the airport train project will only involve state-owned companies.
Previously, Transportation Minister Evert Ernst Mangindaan, admitted that he was not concerned with Lion Air's decision to withdraw from the Halim Perdanakusuma-Soekarno Hatta train project because there are many other investors that have stated their interest in the project.
