Farallon to Pay 30 Percent of BCA Price on March 28

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Farallon, the winning bidder in the tender for the government's 51 percent share in Bank Central Asia (BCA), is to pay 30 percent of the price on March 28, according to I Putu Gede Ary Suta, the Head of the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA). Suta made this announcement on Monday (18/3) prior to a meeting of the Financial Sector Policy Committee (KKSK), and added that the remaining 70 percent would be paid within six months. He went on to say that Farallon cannot sell its shares in BCA without the approval of Bank Indonesia. However, according to Suta, IBRA had not set a lock up period as regards any change of ownership of the shares in BCA. (Istiqomatul Hayati—TEMPO News Room)
