TEMPO.CO , Ankara - Turkey closed its border gate following the clash between al-Qaeda-affiliated group and Arab-and-Western-backed Free Syrian Army near the Turkey's border, a Turkish official said yesterday.
"The Oncupinar border gate has been closed for security reasons as there is still confusion about what is happening on the Syrian side. All humanitarian assistance that normally goes through the gate has ceased," the official told Reuters. Turkey said they normally open one gate for Syrian refugees to cross the border freely to its territory, but it had to be closed due to the armed conflicts near the border.
