TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police Commission (Kompolnas) has yet to question Police Comr. Albert--the man alleged stealing documents from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), as Albert did not come to the Commission's summoning. "He should have been checked by the Kompolnas yesterday, by he did not come," Kompolnas member Hamidah Abdurrahman told Tempo, Thursday, July 11.
The summoning, Hamidah said, is to ascertain whether Albert had been stolen the documents and to find out why. Albert, he said, had worked at BNN. The motive of the theft remains unknown.
During initial investigation, Albert said that he did not steal any documents, and that his breaking into the BNN's administration office was only to take his paycheck because had not been receiving his salary since August 2012.
"But the fact is he had received his salaries," said POLRI's Head of Public Relations, Brigadier-General Ronny F Sompie.
Investigative reports also suggest that Albert forced security guards to let him enter the room. "We have interrogated three staff members and a security guard who was on guard. They claim to have been persuaded and forced."
