TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency or BMKG forecasted Jakarta's weather will be sunny this morning on Friday, April 19, 2024. Rain potentially would fall on the majority of the locations in the region in the afternoon until evening.

According to the weather forecast on the official BMKG website, nearly all parts of Jakarta will be sunny this morning, except for the Seribu Islands with the chance of a drizzle.

The rain in the Seribu Islands is expected to stop in the afternoon while the rest of Jakarta will begin to rain. BMKG expected thunderstorms will fall in South Jakarta and East Jakarta this afternoon.

In the evening, light rain will potentially continue falling in Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and North Jakarta. Meanwhile, East Jakarta and the Seribu Islands may be cloudy.

With most areas experiencing rain today, Jakarta's air temperature ranges from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius. BMKG data shows that the air humidity is around 75 to 100 percent.

Citing IQAir data, Jakarta was ranked 5th city with the worst air quality in the world on Wednesday morning, April 17, 2024. At that time, the air quality index (AQI) was at 151, or the unhealthy category. At exactly 00:00 today, Jakarta’s air quality had improved to 76, or the medium category.
