TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi visited Pasar Senen Station in Central Jakarta, on Monday, April 8, or two days prior to Eid al-Fitr, to monitor one of the busiest Eid homecoming posts in Jakarta.

Donning a white shirt, black trousers, and sneakers, he arrived at the location at around 08:45 Jakarta time and was greeted by residents who would depart for their hometowns.

The palace has not yet released any press statement regarding the visit. At the Pasar Senen train station, the president inspected several points, including trains. He was accompanied by Transportation Minister Budi Karya and Acting Governor of Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs will announce the date of Eid al-Fitr, or first Shawwal 1445 Hijri, after the isbat or confirmation session on Tuesday evening, April 9, 2024.
