TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pertamina has stocked up fuel (BBM) and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) in East Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara ahead of the Eid al-Fitr holiday period.

"Pertamina is increasing the stocks by 5 to 15 percent for fuel and LPG in storage areas and distributors across East Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara (Jatimbalinus)," said Acting Executive GM Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus, Deny Sukendar to media crew on Monday.

Pertamina will increase the stock throughout Ramadan and the Eid holiday, from March 31 to April 21, 2024.

Pertamina also predicts the peak of the Eid homecoming flow on April 6 to 9, 2024. Meanwhile, the return flow will fall on April 13 to 15, 2024. During this period, Pertamina also projects an increase in fuel and LPG consumption.

In detail, the Gasoline fuel type has an increase in consumption of 11.8% from the normal daily average. In contrast to Gasoil (diesel) which decreased by -14.8% compared to normal.

"The reason for the decrease is the ban on logistics vehicles to pass the roads from April 5 to 16, which is the main consumers for diesel,” said Deny.

Meanwhile, LPG consumption is predicted to increase by 5.3 percent from normal. In detail, 3-kg LPG rose by 5 percent and non-subsidized LPG rose by 12.6 percent.

"Sales in East Java reached 70 to 75 percent, the highest compared to Bali and Nusa Tenggara,” he added. “The reason is because travelers pass East Java during the homecoming.”

In addition, Pertamina is doing extra performance by forming the Ramadan and Eid Task Force from March 25 to April 21, 2024. This task force will monitor the distribution and preparedness of all distributors.

Pertamina has also added 100 Motorist Pertamina Delivery Service and 15 Fuel Bags in the form of Mobile Storage throughout East Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara. This Mobile Storage will be on standby on roads prone to congestion, and disasters, as well as major tourist destinations across the regions.
