KAI Assigns 842 Personnel to Anticipate Train Travel Disruptions During Eid Homecoming Season

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has prepared to deploy 842 personnel to anticipate any problems or disruptions in railway services and infrastructure during this year's Eid homecoming season.

"We are also preparing additional officers such as traffic guard officers (PJL), track inspection officers (PPJ), and special surveillance area officers (DAPUS officers). So the total number of personnel we are alerting to support or anticipate rail infrastructure disruptions is about 842 personnel," KAI's executive vp for passenger transportation marketing and sales Ririn Widi Astutik said in an online discussion in Jakarta on Wednesday, March 27.

Ririn added that KAI has also prepared material equipment for standby (AMUS), which includes various items such as railway sleepers, (ballast stone) for rails, and so on, to anticipate disruptions in railway infrastructure. If at any time there are problems with the infrastructure, then this is very important. help.

In order to improve safety and order in train travel, stations, and lines, PT KAI conducts regional coordination with local authorities and increases security in areas prone to safety and order problems.

"We are also coordinating with the TNI and Polri, and the total number of internal and external security personnel we have prepared reaches 9,689 personnel," Ririn said.

As part of the transportation strategies for Eid 2024, the company is also conducting ramp checks and joint inspections by deploying various support facilities such as post locomotives, generator trains and cranes at designated points on Java Island.

PT KAI is also operating a special integrated post to ensure that Eid 2024 transportation runs smoothly, safely and securely.
