TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo disclosed that his assets surged by Rp13.4 billion between 2022 and 2023. According to the state official’s wealth report (LHKPN), his assets amounted to Rp82.36 billion in 2022 and escalated to Rp95.8 billion in 2023.

Upon registering as a presidential candidate in 2014, the former governor of Jakarta declared his assets to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) at Rp29.8 billion. Tempo obtained this information from the anti-graft body’s e-LHKPN website.

“My total assets as of May 14, 2014, were valued at Rp29,892,946,012 and US$27,633,” he said while submitting his report at the General Elections Commission (KPU) office in Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

This indicates that by 2023, during his nine-year tenure as Indonesian President, Jokowi's assets surged by Rp66 billion. In percentage terms, the former Solo mayor's wealth skyrocketed by more than 227 percent during his presidential term since 2014. This surge was partially attributed to the appreciation in the sale value of Jokowi's assets.
