TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Four people were rushed to the hospital after a pile-up at the Halim Toll’s main gate in East Jakarta on Wednesday morning. The multi-car accident reportedly involved six vehicles.
According to the social media account of TMC Polda Metro Jaya, the series of collisions occurred at the Halim toll plaza from the direction of Bekasi towards the Inner City Toll Road.
"There were no fatalities, but four people suffered chest tightness and were evacuated to the nearest hospital," the account posted on March 27, Antara reported.
In photos circulating on social media, the vehicles involved in the accident at the toll plaza appeared to have sustained significant damage. Some cars looked as if they are stacked on top of each other.
Because of the accidents, the flow of traffic on the toll road was disrupted.
The cause of the accident at the toll plaza has not yet been determined. The police are currently investigating the accident, which involved a truck, two minibuses, two pick-up trucks and a city car.
