TEMPO.CO, Denpasar - The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office in Badung District, Bali, installed 30 additional units of immigration automatic gates, or autogates, at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to support the effectiveness of international flights.

"Installation will take around three months, and we are targeting completion in early July 2024," Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Suhendra, stated in Denpasar, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

Yesterday, the Immigration had installed 30 autogate units at the international arrival terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.

Another 20 autogate units are also planned to be installed at the departure terminal, Suhendra added.

He ensured that the installation of the additional autogate units would not disrupt the flow of international travelers while validating their travel documents.

According to Suhendra, all regular immigration counters will remain operational and the 30 autogate units that were earlier installed can still be used.

Currently, the autogate facility can be used by passengers for all types of Indonesian citizen passports, both regular and electronic passports.

Meanwhile, for foreign nationals, the autogate facility can be used for those who have an electronic passport for visa on arrival (E-VoA) and electronic visa (E-Visa).

Moreover, the autogate facility can be availed by foreigners having a Limited Stay Permit Card (KITAS), Permanent Stay Permit Card (KITAP), as well as for those from countries subject to visa-free visits (BVK), namely countries in the ASEAN region that have registered on the evisa.imigration.go.id page.

With autogate, the duration of immigration services can be cut, from several minutes to 15 to 25 seconds, Suhendra stated.

He remarked that immigration inspection at the autogate will also integrate Face Recognition technology, in the form of facial recognition and border control management (BCM).

Such modern facilities are expected to accommodate the movement of passengers at the airport after having arrived from abroad more quickly and minimize long queues, he remarked.
