1. Soekarno-Hatta Airport Starts Restricting Entry of Imported Goods

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta Airport Customs and Excise Office has commenced restricting entry of imported goods brought by passengers traveling from abroad based on the Trade Minister’s Regulation No. 36 of 2023 on import policies and regulations. The policy, passed on December 11, 2023, came into effect on March 10, 2024.

“People are advised to pay attention to the policy implementation because the goods are often carried by passengers when they return to Indonesia as souvenirs for family and relatives,” the Customs and Excise Office head Gatot Sugeng Wibowo said in Tangerang on March 10, as quoted from Antara.

2. Gibran Rakabuming on 2024 Election Result: Let's Wait Until March 20

TEMPO.CO, Solo - Vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka called upon all elements to wait for the official final results from the General Elections Commission (KPU) for the 2024 Election.

“Let’s just wait until March 20,” the Surakarta Mayor said in Solo, Central Java, on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

When asked about the results of the quick count that showed him and Prabowo Subianto leading the votes in Central Java, he again asked all parties to wait. “Everything is not finished yet, just wait,” he said.

3. Indonesian Volunteers Share Fasting Experience in Gaza Amid Food Crisis

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An Indonesian volunteer of the Medical and Humanitarian Institute (MER-C) Fikri Rofiul Haq shared his experience of fasting in Gaza. He said the people of Palestine had been fasting for months before Ramadan due to the lack of humanitarian aid amidst the relentless Israeli attacks.

Fikri has been residing in Gaza since 2020 and currently lives with displaced residents in a school building near the European Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. Fikri and his colleagues at MER-C, Reza Aldilla Kurniawan and Farid Zanzabil Al Ayubi, were compelled to leave the Indonesian Hospital (RSI) in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza after Israeli troops intensified their attacks last year.
