TEMPO.CO, Solo - Vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka called upon all elements to wait for the official final results from the General Elections Commission (KPU) for the 2024 Election.
“Let’s just wait until March 20,” the Surakarta Mayor said in Solo, Central Java, on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
When asked about the results of the quick count that showed him and Prabowo Subianto leading the votes in Central Java, he again asked all parties to wait. “Everything is not finished yet, just wait,” he said.
The eldest son of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo also claimed that he was still awaiting the opportunity to meet with his rivals, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. “I'll just wait. If they would like to, I'll visit them [since] I'm the youngest [candidate among them].”
On March 11, the KPU confirmed in the plenary meeting for the recapitulation of the national vote that Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka had emerged victorious in Central Java Province, having secured an impressive 12,096,454 votes. Meanwhile, Ganjar-Mahfud received 7,827,335 votes, and Anies-Muhaimin obtained 2,866,373 votes.
