Densus 88 Arrest 10 Suspected Terrorists in Greater Solo

TEMPO.CO, Solo - The National Police’s anti-terror squad, Densus 88, managed to arrest ten suspected terrorists in the Greater Solo area today, January 25. Tempo gathered information that the arrests were made in Solo, Sukoharjo, Boyolali, and Karanganyar.

A spokesman for the Central Java Regional Police, Sr. Comr. Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto, confirmed the arrests. “Densus 88 have indeed detained suspected terrorists in several locations,” Satake told journalists on Thursday, January 25.

According to him, regional police personnel were also involved in the arrests, searches, and sterilizations at each location to assist the national counterterrorism unit.

Tempo received information that one of the suspected terrorists apprehended in Karanganyar Regency has been identified as TA, a resident of Nangsri Village, Kebakkramat District.

Prior to the bust in Karanganyar, the Densus 88 had arrested several other suspected terrorists throughout Greater Solo. Five of them were nabbed in Sukoharjo Regency, one in Solo City, and the remaining three in Boyolali Regency.
