More Than 36,000 People Visit Monas on Christmas Holiday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of visitors to the National Monument or Monas on Monday during the Christmas holidays reached 36,713 people. According to the head of the management unit of the Monas area, Muhammad Isa Sarnuri, that was the number of visitors from 06:00 to 18:00 on Christmas Day.

"The number of Monas visits from 06:00 to 18:00 was 36,713 people," Isa said in a written statement, Monday, December 25.

Most of Monas visitors were domestic tourists, with only 176 foreign tourists recorded visiting the area. They came from Japan, South Korea, India, Russia, Turkey, United States, China, Australia, France, Portugal, England, Malaysia, Netherlands, Morocco and Vietnam.

To welcome tourists in celebrating Christmas and welcoming the new year, the management of the national landmark is holding 'Monas Week' from 24 to 31 December 2023.

According to the official Monas Instagram account @monas.nasional, today's event will include a dancing fountain show, video mapping display, and others.

People who want to visit the Monas area can come from 06:00 to 20:00. Those planning to visit the area around Monas Monument, it is open from 08:00 to 18:00. The ticket window closes at 17:00.
