The Indonesian Geological Agency has expressed doubt about the existence of a civilization 75,000 years ago that built a pyramid-like structure in Lake Toba, North Sumatra.

Muhammad Wafid, the agency's acting head, said that information on the discovery needs to be clarified.

"The explanation from Dani Hilman, the discoverer of the pyramid, has become a very important starting point. However, the Geological Agency considers it important to detail some key points in this context," he said in a statement on Friday, October 20, 2023.

2. Hajj Waiting Time Reduced by 2 Years with the Additional Quota, Says Jokowi

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated on Sunday, October 22, 2023, that the additional 20,000 Hajj quota from the Saudi Arabian government for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage will cut the waiting time of would-be pilgrims by two years.

In his remarks at the 2023 Santri Day event in Surabaya, East Java, Jokowi revealed the results of his bilateral meeting with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman al-Saud, in Riyadh, on Friday, October 20, 2023.

"I conveyed to His Royal Highness that currently in Indonesia, if people want to perform Hajj, they have to wait for 47 years," he said during the event, which was broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was welcomed by Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and Commander of the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) Admiral Yudo Margo upon his arrival in Indonesia after concluding visits to China and Saudi Arabia.
